Bilingual Learning Program for Multicultural Students Begins Second Semester

As part of the Education Development Special Zone project commissioned by the Yeosu Office of Education, the Bilingual Learning Program for Multicultural Students has begun its second semester.

This program helps students from diverse cultural backgrounds learn the language of their parents’ home country. It aims to promote bilingual education and support multicultural students in developing a strong sense of identity.

This year, the program offers 14 classes in six languages — Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Khmer, and Korean. In addition, seven cultural and artistic clubs are available, including ukulele, flute, haegeum, gayageum, cello, guitar, and expressive art. Creative play classes and basic learning mentoring sessions are also provided with the support of university student mentors.

In particular, this year the program is working in partnership with university volunteer clubs to provide weekly service opportunities. With the growing demand for mentoring, more university students are also taking part.

The Bilingual Learning Program will be held every Saturday until November 15.
