Summer Vacation by the Sea: CNU Global Marine Experience

On August 20, the Global Education Center at Chonnam National University hosted the “Global Marine Experience”program for 50 participants, including international and domestic students. This program provided students with an opportunity to directly experience the sea while enjoying the unique attractions of Yeosu.

Participants first received essential summer water safety training at the Marine Leisure School within the Yeosu World Expo site, and then enjoyed kayaking on the sea. The laughter and cheerful conversations of students on the waves captured the vibrant atmosphere of the midsummer sea. One participant said, “It’s a great advantage to have the school so close to the sea. The view of Yeosu’s waters while kayaking was truly beautiful.”

Director Hoong-ho Sam of the Global Education Center stated, “This program was part of the Chonnam RISE initiative, designed to help international students adapt to the region, provide marine cultural experiences, and highlight the unique charm of the Yeosu Campus. We will continue to develop and operate cultural adaptation programs connecting the local community and the university, further promoting the cultivation of glocal talent.”
